The launch of three new iPhones is the most trending news in the “tech world” right now. Apple announced the release of the iPhones at its annual event on Wednesday, September 12, 2018. While the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max will be available later this month, the third flagship, iPhone XR will be available a month later, on October 26. To be the first set of individuals to experience the smartphones, you have to “pre-order”, starting from Friday 14th September. This article will tell you how to pre-order iPhone Xs Max, Xs and the Xr.
The iPhone XS and XS Max will be available as from next week Friday, 21st September. Hence, the first batch to be released will be for those who have “pre-ordered” the iPhones. If you are lucky enough to be among the first set to lay your hands on the iPhone upon launch, good for you. Otherwise, you might have to wait for days or even weeks before you can get them at retail stores.
Pre-order iPhone XS Max, Xs and XR from Apple Store
To preorder the latest set of iPhones, get the Apple store app on your device and get ready to make your preorder, which begins at 12:01 AM in the United States (PT) and 3:01 AM (ET) on Friday 14th September. Apple customers in West Africa should get ready to place their orders as from 7:01 AM on the same day.
Apple offers a programme known as Apple GiveBack Programme. If you are part of the programme, you can make your purchase through the programme to get up to $523 credit of purchase, if you already own an iPhone X.
If you don’t have iPhone X but you own an iPhone 7, you can also get up to $200 credit on your purchase of any of the new iPhone XS or XS Max.
The iPhone XS was the first to launch at the Apple’s event. You can start placing your orders as from 7:01 AM (WAT) on Friday, September 14.
The iPhone XS comes in three storage variants and of course, three different prices.
- The first storage variant 4GB/64GB goes for $999 or you can pay in instalments of $50 per month for 2 full years (24 months), under the Apple’s iPhone Upgrade Program.
- The 4GB/256GB version sells at $1149 or $56/month for 24months, under the Apple’s iPhone Upgrade Program.
- The top-most version (4GB/512GB) of the XS will available for an outright price of $1349 or instalment payments of $64.50/month for 24 months.
Instalment payments of the new iPhone XS are only available under the Apple’s iPhone Upgrade Program.
iPhone XS Max
Just like the XS, the XS Max comes in three storage models; 64GB, 256GB, and 512GB. Preordering starts at 7:01 AM (WAT) on Friday, September 14.
- The 4GB/64GB model sells for $1099 ($100 more than its XS counterpart). With the Apple’s iPhone Upgrade Program, you can make instalment payments of $54/month for 24 months.
- The 4GB/256GB storage model of the XS Max sells for $1,249 or instalments of $60 per month for 2 years.
- The last storage model (4GB/512GB) sells for $1,449 or you can pay in an instalment of $69 per month, for 24months, under the Apple’s iPhone Upgrade Program.
The iPhone XR, which was launched alongside the XS and XS Max, will be available for order at a later date. The preordering of iPhone XR starts more than a month after the other two have become fully available in the open market. You can start placing your orders for the iPhone XR as from October 19, 2018. Your orders will be available a week later on the 26th of October.
Just like the other two iPhones, the XR also comes in 3 storage variants; 64GB/128GB/256GB, with a uniform RAM of 3GB.
- The smallest storage model, 3GB/64GB sells at $749.
- The 3GB/128GB XR variant sells for $849.
- The 3GB/256GB variant sells at $899.
These models of the iPhone XR also comes will with instalment purchase support, under the Apple’s iPhone Upgrade Program.
You can also make your preorders on a host of 3rd party platforms like T-Mobile, SAM’s Club and Verizon among others.
Preorders of the iPhone XS and XS Max for T-Mobile users start at exactly 12:01 AM (PT) and 7:01 AM (WAT) on Friday, September 14. Reservations can also be made through T-Mobile’s retail stores. iPhone users can be provided with up to $300 on billing credits, for a period of 2years if they ‘trade-in’ their current iPhones for either of the XS or XS Max.
As for the iPhone XR, preorders start on October 19.
Preorders on Verizon begin as soon as Apple opens the link, at 12:01 AM (PT) on Friday, September 14. Once the link has been opened, you can place your orders through Verizon.
Verizon, just like T-Mobile offers credit incentives if you purchase either of iPhone XS or XR through their platform. The iPhone XR preorders start on October 19, 2018.
By 12:01 AM (PT) on Friday, September 14, you can start placing your orders for the iPhone XS and XS Max through SAM Club’s website. If you activate the 24month plan, you are rewarded with a $100 gift card.
You can preorder the new iPhones from many other platforms like US Cellular and the likes. However, most of these platforms are supported or hosted in the United States, for Americans.
For Nigerians and other Africans, it is safe to make your preorders directly through the Apple Store. You can do this by getting the Apple store app from App Store if you don’t already have it.
