On Tuesday, Apple announced new M3 chip-powered 11-inch and 13-inch iPad models with an updated Magic Keyboard. The 11-inch iPad starts at $599 for the Wi-Fi model and $749 for the Wi-Fi + Cellular model, while the 13-inch iPad Air starts at $799 for the Wi-Fi model and $949 for the Wi-Fi + Cellular model. The 11-inch Magic Keyboard is $269, and the 13-inch Magic Keyboard is $319.
Apple says the new iPad Air with the M3 chip is 2x faster than the previous iPad Air with the M1 chip released in 2024 and up to 3.5x faster than the iPad Air with A14 Bionic. For the first time, the M3 chip brings Apple’s advanced graphics architecture to iPad Air, supporting ray tracing and providing a realistic gaming experience.
The new Magic Keyboard is available for both the 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Air models. It features a new 14-key function row that provides quick access to features such as screen brightness and volume control. The Magic Keyboard attaches to the iPad Air magnetically, and the Smart Connector immediately connects power and data without needing Bluetooth. Like all recent Apple devices, it has a USB-C connector. It starts at $269 for the 11-inch model and $319 for the 13-inch model.
The new iPad Air supports Apple Intelligence and brings all AI-powered features, including Visual Intelligence, Writing Tools, Genmoji, and ChatGPT integration. Thanks to its M1 chip, the previous iPad Air also supports Apple Intelligence.
The new 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Air models feature a 12-megapixel Center-Stage front camera, 12-megapixel Wide rear camera, Touch ID power button, USB-C port with up to 10 Gbps data transfer speeds, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.3.
The 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Air with M3 will be available in blue, purple, starlight, and space gray, with 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB configurations.
