A lot has happened over the past few weeks concerning Naughty Dog and The Last of Us Part 2. The game has had to be postponed a few times before a final release date of June 19 was confirmed, some dev build parts of the game were also leaked and Sony has confirmed it has identified the leakers. In a heartfelt message, Creative Director Neil Druckmann confirmed the upcoming game has gone gold which means its development is complete.
Neil Druckmann calls The Last of Us Part 2 “the most ambitious game we’ve ever made.” He also confirmed discs are being printed and the executable is. “being put on the PlayStation Network”. The game will be the largest of any PS4 exclusive in terms of size taking up at least a 100GB of storage.
Druckmann took the time to thank fans who have waited for many years to get the game, he said “On behalf of everyone at Naughty Dog, we want to say thank you to you guys. You’ve been very patient waiting for this game for years with us, and you’re just a few weeks away from getting it.”
Lastly, he confirms the game is exceptional and tells fans to ignore all leaks. “No matter what you’ve seen, or heard, or read, nothing compares to playing this thing from beginning to end. It’s a video game, you’ve got to play it,” says Druckmann.
I already pre-ordered the digital version of the game and my hands are itching to play.
