It’s finally bye-bye to butterfly keyboards as Apple has announced a new 13-inch MacBook Pro with Magic Keyboard. The new MacBook is a spec bump from the older ones and it comes at a starting price of $1,299. The RAM can finally be upgraded up to 32GB and it features an optional Intel 10th Gen processors.
The 16-inch MacBook Pro which was announced in November 2019 was the first to ditch the highly controversial butterfly keyboard mechanism. Apple followed suit with the MacBook Air last month and has completely now phased out the old keyboard with the announcement of the new 13-inch MacBook Pro with a scissor-switch mechanism.

Apple is retaining the Touch Bar as well as the Touch ID fingerprint sensor. The Magic keyboard also brings a physical escape key which is not available on older 13-inch butterfly-keyboard MacBook Pros. There are three thunderbolt USB-C ports and four in total with a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The 10th Gen Intel processors have a turbo boost up to 4.1GHz and the new Intel Iris graphics support the Pro Display XDR at full 6K resolution. Apart from the RAM being maxed out at 32GB, the storage can also go up to 4TB.
The base model has an 8GB RAM and comes with a 256GB storage but is lacking the 10th Gen Intel processors. Pricing begins at $1,299 and bumping up the RAM to 16GB adds an extra $100. Pre-order is underway at Apple.com and it will in select Apple stores and authorized resellers later this week. Students and Education customers get $100 off on the base model.
