Cyberpunk 2077 sold 13.7 million copies in 2020, making it the biggest game ever in CD Projekt Red’s history, the Polish studio revealed in a financial statement on Thursday.

In a preliminary result released last week, CPDR also recorded its best financial results ever in 2020 having earned a record PLN 2.14 billion ($562 million) in sales revenue. Despite committing PLN 8.46 million ($2.23 million) to its “Help Me Refund” program which amounted to about 30,000 refunds, Cyberpunk 2077 assisted the studio to a strong fourth quarter which greatly boosted the company’s financial results.

Despite its disastrous launch, it was clear Cyberpunk 2077 was going to be the Polish studio’s biggest game ever having garnered 8 million pre-orders which the company said helped recouped all of the game’s development and marketing costs.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt continues to enjoy huge success despite being released nearly six years ago. The RPG game had its second best year yet in 2020 with a cumulative sales of over 30 million copies, while the entire The Witcher trilogy sold more than 50 million copies.

The Polish studio reiterated its commitment to Cyberpunk 2077 and promised to bring it “to a level where everyone can fully enjoy the game, regardless of platform.” Further updates and free DLCs are planned for Cyberpunk 2077 and the studio said it remains dedicated to releasing next-gen console editions for the game and The Witcher 3.
