Far Cry 6 to Launch October 7, Ubisoft Reveals First Gameplay Trailer

Ubisoft today revealed the first gameplay trailer for Far Cry 6, its “most ambitious” open-world game. The game will launch October 7, 2021 on the PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, PC and Google Stadia. The game was set to launch originally on February 18 but was delayeddue to production challenges related to working from home” as a result of the pandemic.

The gameplay trailer revealed more about the main character, Dani Rojas. Rojas will be playable as a male or female character as she/he teams up with a guerrilla faction to fight the government’s oppression of Yara, a war-torn country in the Caribbean.


Yara, is a tropical island ruled by Presidente Anton Castillo, played by Breaking Bad’s Giancarlo Esposito. Castillo is a tyrant leader who Dani Rojas must overcome and his troops in order to restore Yara to its lost glory. As the game goes on, Yara’s character will be customizable and will also have access to a wide range of weapons.

There will be multiple editions of the game when it launches on October 7 – A Standard Edition (the base game with nothing else), Gold Edition (the base game and season pass), Ultimate Edition (all previous content including the Jungle Expedition pack, the Croc Hunter pack, and Vice Pack bonus DLC) and the Collector’s Edition featuring a box set which includes the ultimate edition, a steelbook case, 64-page artbook, stickers, a Chorizo keyring, a soundtrack, map of Yara, and a 72cm display model of the “Tostador” flamethrower from the game (assembly required).
