Far Cry 6 is coming February 18, 2021 and the game will feature Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul’s Giancarlo Esposito as its main antagonist. Ubisoft showcased the first trailer for the game yesterday at its Ubisoft Forward livestream.
The game is set in a war-torn location named Yara in the Caribbean and it brings an open-world exploration. Giancarlo Esposito plays Presidente Anton Castillo, who is a dictator. Yara is experiencing a period of political turmoil as its people begin to rise up against Castillo’s regime.
In Far Cry 6, you will play as Dani Rojas, a native of Yara who is tasked with bringing down the Presidente and restoring Yara to its former glory. Rojas will team up with a guerilla faction and fight against Castillo’s army while also exploring the open-world antics of the game.
Dani Rojas will be playable as a male or female character with many customizable options. Far Cry 6 will also feature the return of a voiced protagonist which will be present in cutscenes according to GameSpot. There will be multiple editions of the game – A Standard Edition (the base game with nothing else), Gold Edition (the base game and season pass), Ultimate Edition (all previous content including the Jungle Expedition pack, the Croc Hunter pack, and Vice Pack bonus DLC) and the Collector’s Edition featuring a box set which includes the ultimate edition, a steelbook case, 64-page artbook, stickers, a Chorizo keyring, a soundtrack, map of Yara, and a 72cm display model of the “Tostador” flamethrower from the game (assembly required).
