Sony and Guerrilla Games today debuted around 14 minutes of Horizon Forbidden West gameplay on the PlayStation 5. While no release date has been announced yet, the game showed what to expect on PS5 and new gameplay mechanics.
The story of Horizon Forbidden West continues six months after the events of Horizon Zero Dawn. In new unexplored lands, Aloy a young female hunter and the game’s protagonist encounters new tribes and more deadly machines.
In the 14 minutes gameplay in Sony’s State of Play, Aloy’s friend Erend is on a quest to retrieve and important artifact in the ruins of San Francisco. In search of the treasure, Erend encounters of rebel faction of the Tenakth tribe, a newly introduced tribe who can now override machines just like Aloy. Aloy has to overcome the tribe and monstrous machines to rescue her friend.
According to Guerilla Games, the gameplay is just a scratch of the surface and more will be revealed soon. The development of the game is also going according to plan which means its 2021 release date is still on track.
Horizon Forbidden West is a PlayStation first-party title which will launch on the PS4 and PS5.
