Apple Announces its Next Hardware Event for October 18th

In a tweet today, Apple marketing executive Greg Joswiak announced the next hardware event for October 18th. The tweet included a teaser video with the word “Unleashed!” Apple is expected to unveil new MacBooks, a redesigned Mac Mini and we might also see a new AirPods. The event will be live-streamed on Apple.com, the official Apple YouTube channel at 1PM ET / 10AM PT.

Apple has been long-rumoured to be working on a 14-inch MacBook Pro and this is also expected to be released together with a 16-inch MacBook Pro. The new MacBooks will be powered by a new M1X chip according to Bloomberg. The M1X chip will succeed the M1 chip that was introduced by Apple last year after the company stopped using Intel chips. The M1X chip will be more powerful than last year’s M1 with as expected; it will have ten CPU cores and 16 or 32 graphics processor cores.

Apple is expected to bring back the HDMI port, SD card slot and the magnetic MagSafe charging to its new MacBook Pros. Apple could be also set to unveil a powerful Mac Mini with with two Thunderbolt / USB 4 Type-C ports and two USB Type-A ports. And lastly, the third-generation of Apple’s AirPods could finally be around the corner and it is expected to have a design similar to the AirPods Pro.
