Apple has silently announced a noise-cancelling AirPods Pro via a press release on its website. The new AirPods Pro which will set you back by a whopping $249 is available for pre-order starting today but will be released 30th October.
The AirPods Pro is built on the same mechanism with the recently announced Beats Solo Pro and has inbuilt microphones which detect external sound while the earbuds nullify it. It is only available in white colour and the noise cancellation has been adjusted up to 200 times per second.
The “Pro” tag represents a device for professionals and Apple has introduced some new features with the AirPods Pro. It comes with a transparency mode that lets you hear what’s happening around you when the earbuds are plugged in; this is a feature which will come in handy to prevent incidents which could occur as a result of not hearing what’s going on around you. There is a “force sensor” to activate transparency mode and control music playback.
Apple says the earbuds come with an “Adaptive EQ” for better music tunes to your ear shape. Like its predecessor, the AirPods 2, AirPods supports wireless charging and hands-free “Hey Siri” command. Just like the Beats Solo Pro, Apple has made the new AirPods water-resistant – a feature which would interest those who want to wear them to the gym.
In terms of battery uptime, Apple says it delivers more than 24hrs of battery life to keep you in the go. It delivers 1hr of listening time on only 5 minutes of charging and up to 4.5hrs on one charge.
You can still charge the earbuds via the Lightning Connector, but they come packaged with a Lightning to USB-C cable.
