Back in May last year, a Reddit user found the secret Dark Mode on YouTube before the streaming giant finally made the feature official on its web platform. IOS users got the option back in March, and now YouTube Dark Mode for Android is finally available.
Not all Android devices have received the update yet, but it is expected to roll out to all very soon. The feature can be accessed via Settings’ General section with the option to toggle Dark theme on or off. Similarly, on IOS, the normally white background becomes switched to dark grey with white letterings.
YouTube has recently made some major changes with the introduction of a slightly different layout and material design. YouTube Dark Mode for Android and IOS will be very helpful for those who stay online at night watching videos, switching to the dark theme will bring less straining to the eyes.
