Sucker Punch today showed a new 18-minute gameplay footage for its upcoming Samurai-themed action game, Ghost of Tsushima. The entire PlayStation State of Play was dedicated to showing various aspects of the game which comes out July 17th after the first gameplay trailer was shown at E3 2018.
The footage began by showing protagonist Jin Sakai exploring ways to navigate his surroundings and new locations. Jin can easily detect where to go in the Island of Tsushima by summoning a gust of wind. The gust of wind sets a trail for Jin to follow.
The footage showcased the open world exploration of the game ways Jin can communicate with his surroundings. Animals can lead Jin to places with specific tasks such as where Jin get collectibles to improve the game.
Different combat modes were also shown which shows how deadly Jin could be when his skills are well used. When Jin plays as The Ghost, the Mongols fear him and Jin can use that to his advantage.
Photo Mode has also been improved with different filters and colour grading. The photo mode also allows you take stunning pictures of the island with a shallow depth of field.
The game also has the option of being played entirely in Japanese with subtitles. It can also be played in classic white film grain filter for those who want to play like that.
Ghost of Tsushima alongside The Last of Us Part II are first-party titles coming exclusively to the PS4. The PS4 is surely having a deserved swansong with the launch of the PlayStation 5 on the horizon.
