As the world battles the Coronavirus pandemic, Twitter is making the necessary steps to make sure its employees are safe. The microblogging platform announced today it has mandated all its employees worldwide they must stay at home and deliver their duties.
During this period the company will continue paying its contractors, vendors and hourly workers. “For contractors and hourly workers who are not able to perform their responsibilities from home, Twitter will continue to pay their labor costs to cover standard working hours while Twitter’s work-from-home guidance and/or travel restrictions related to their assigned office are in effect,” says Twitter.
Twitter also says it will be covering reimbursement for expenses incurred from home office setup as well as additional daycare expenses for parents who have to pay additional cost as part of measures to keep its partners and employees safe.
