Xiaomi sub-brand, Redmi has announced two new devices – the Redmi Note 9 Pro and Redmi Note 9 Pro Max. This comes after Xiaomi discontinued its Mi Max lineup of phones.
Redmi Note 9 Pro
Redmi Note 9 Pro has a big 6.67” LCD display with a Full HD+ resolution. Its body is splash-proof and it has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. It runs on Android 10 and is powered by a Snapdragon 720G chipset. There are two storage variant options – a 4GB/64GB and a 6GB/128GB.

In terms of camera, there is 16MP selfie camera which is housed in the punch-hole cutout. At the back is a quad-camera setup with a 48MP main shooter, 8MP ultra-wide lens, 5MP macro lens and a 2MP depth sensor.
On the battery side, there is a 5,020mAh non-removable battery which supports the 18W charging.
The device is available in Aurora Blue, Glacier White and Interstellar Black colours. It will be available starting March 17 with the 4GB/64GB variant going for Rs.12,999($175) and the 6GB/128GB going for Rs.15,999($215).
Redmi Note 9 Pro Max
The Redmi Note 9 Pro Max features the same 6.67” screen FHD+ resolution with the Redmi Note 9 Pro. On top of the screen is a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 for extra protection. It runs on Android 10 as well and is powered by a Snapdragon 720G chipset with a 6GB or 8GB and either a 64GB or 128GB internal storage.

The selfie snapper is a 32MP camera housed in the punch-hole cutout, this is the highest MP found in any Redmi smartphone. At the back is a quad-camera setup with a 64MP main shooter, 8MP ultra-wide lens with 119-degree FoV sitting, 5MP macro lens and a 2MP depth sensor. The Redmi Note 9 Pro Max camera supports RAW photography and comes with a dedicated Night Mode.
In terms of juice, it is powered by a 5,020mAh battery with 33W fast-charging support.
Coming March 25, it will be available for sale in Aurora Blue, Glacier White and Interstellar Black colours. The 6GB/64GB will be going for Rs.14,999($202), the 6GB/128GB for Rs.16,999($230) and the 8GB/128GB for Rs.18,999($255).
