After indefinitely postponing the next-gen version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, CD Projekt Red today announced the game is now “planned to release in Q4 2022.” The Polish gaming studio was previously targeting a release in the second quarter of 2022 before announcing an indefinite delay in April.
In April, CD Projekt Red also said its in-house team will be taking over the development of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt from Saber Interactive who had previously been entrusted with the project. The next-gen version of the game is set to come as a free upgrade to those who own the game previously on the PS4, Xbox One or PC.
Cyberpunk 2077, another game from the Polish gaming studio got a next-gen update in February which has improved the game after a disastrous launch. CD Projekt Red hasn’t provided much update as to what to expect when the update is finally released for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt but the studio promised extra content inspired by the Netflix show.
