The most awarded video game ever, Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us Part II is finally getting a PS5 performance upgrade. Released on the PS4 last year June, the game won several awards shattering the previous record set by The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt which had held the record for over five years.
In a blog post, Naughty Dog’s Director of Communications Arne Meyer called the performance patch “one of the most requested items from our community.” The patch 1.08 is available for download now for PS5 owners, once installed, it adds the Display option to choose between a framerate target of 30fps or 60fps.
Apart from the framerate patch, Naughty Dog did not add anything else. Normally, PS4 games installed on the PS5 takes advantage of the PS5’s powerful hardware and gets faster load times and enhanced resolution.
“The team has been digging into the PS5 hardware and the possibilities it unlocks since launch last year and we’re excited about what the future holds,” Naughty Dog says. “This patch is just the first step of working on the PS5. We’ll let you know when we’ve got more news to share!”
