Mobile giants, TECNO have stormed the mobile market in 2018 with new additions to their existing products. ‘Tecno Pouvoir 1 and 2’ have been released as well as ‘Tecno Camon X and X Pro’. However, our focus is on Camon X and Pouvoir 2.
Both of them have been one of Tecno’s best release this year. The Pouvoir 2 is famed for its battery capacity (5000 mAh) while the Camon X is famed for its enhanced camera quality. In this post, the aim is to compare and contrast and let the readers be the judge of the best.
TECNO Pouvoir 2 vs TECNO Camon X – Design
There are striking similarities between both devices. Both of them are characterized by a front-facing glass while the body is made up of polycarbonate plastic. Their fingerprint sensor is installed at the back of the phone and there is a conventional Tecno name at the lower part of the phone. Also, they possess the same colour variants which include Champagne Gold, Midnight Black and City Blue.
However, there are some differences noticeable. The back camera and the LED flash of the Tecno Pouvoir 2 are installed just above the fingerprint sensor while the back camera and the LED flash of the Tecno Camon X are installed on the top left corner of the phone.
Another noticeable difference is their thickness and weight. Pouvoir 2’s thickness is 8.5mm while Camon X’s thickness is 7.8mm. Camon X weighs 148 grams while the wight of the Pouvoir 2 is over 200 grams.
I guess that’s the price the Pouvoir 2 has to pay for featuring a 5000 mAh battery. The Champagne Gold, Midnight Black, and City Blue body colours are available for both the Tecno Camon X and the Tecno Pouvoir 2. They both support Face Identification Technology, which is a big plus for the Pouvoir 2.
Display – TECNO Pouvoir 2 vs TECNO Camon X
Both phones possess almost the same display properties. Therefore, it is an intricate task to differentiate between them. They are characterized by a 6.0-inch HD+ IPS LCD touchscreen. Also, their pixel resolution and aspect ratio are 720 x 1440 and 18:9 respectively.
However, Tecno Camon X is characterized by 275 pixels per inch density while Tecno Pouvoir 2 possesses 269 pixels per inch density.
The Camera – TECNO Pouvoir 2 vs TECNO Camon X
The Tecno Camon X is widely known for its great camera quality so challenging it might be an insurmountable task for the Pouvoir 2.
Camon X possesses a 20MP front-facing HDR camera and a 16MP camera with quad-LED flash at the rear. Pouvoir 2 is characterized by a front-facing 8MP camera with LED flash and a 13MP dual-LED flash camera on the back.
There’s a clear winner here but the Pouvoir 2 possesses a Face ID just like the Camon X so this is a consolation for the Pouvoir 2 fans.
Hardware and Software
The Camon X is run by Mediatek Helio P23 chipset that has an octa-core processor with a speed of 2.0GHz. On the other hand, the Pouvoir 2 is run by MediaTek MT6737 chipset that has a quad-core processor with a speed of 1.3GHz. This means that the Camon X can process faster.
Both phones run on HiOS skin and have Android 8.1 Oreo OS. Camon X has a conventional 3GB RAM with a rather unimpressive 16GB storage. However, the storage can be increased up to 128 with a MicroSD chip. On the other hand, the Pouvoir 2 comes with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage which can be extended up to 32GB only with a microSD chip. There is a clear winner here too.
The Battery
The Tecno Pouvoir 2 possesses a non-removable Li-ion 5000 mAh battery (96 hours with little or no use) while the Camon X possesses a non-removable Li-ion 3750 mAh battery (72 hours with little or no use). However, the Camon X has a fast charging support while the Pouvoir 2 does not.
This aspect is a big win for the Pouvoir 2.
The Price – TECNO Pouvoir 2 vs TECNO Camon X
To get the Tecno Camon X, it shall cost about N60,000 while the Pouvoir 2 purchase shall cost close to N50,000.
Honestly, I think the Pouvoir 2 is exorbitant for such a price because of the relatively inferior specs it possesses. The only big win it has is the monstrous 5000 mAh battery which does not even come with a fast charging option.
Therefore, it is recommended to get the Tecno Camon X because of the superior specs it possesses.

Personally, I prefer camon x. It suits my phone needs better.
both devices are great, it all depends on what the user wants , whether he or she wants a power device or cool camera device.
i think the major differences are the fact that one device is a very good picture taking device with a superb camera and the other is a very good power device with an amazing battery.
I like the Camon X. But I want the battery in the Pourvoir
