We made an unboxing of the device some days back and having used it and felt the experience, this is the TECNO Camon X Pro review. As you all know by now, TECNO Camon series have always been known to be great camera phones but the X Pro offers much more than that.

TECNO Camon X Pro Review: Pros and Cons

Pros

• Full view HD+ display
• 64GB internal storage and 4GB RAM
• Great camera, has portrait mode
• Fast Face ID recognition
• Fast charge with normal battery life

Cons

• Battery life is normal (not spectacular)
• Selfie camera brings out too much light at times

Design and Display Review

Aesthetically, the Camon X Pro has to be the sleekest device yet from TECNO Mobile. There is no ambiguous design but things we kept pretty neat and clean; there is a golden lining across the device which glows in the dark and brings out its beauty the more.

In terms of display, we have a 6” HD+ full view display with a 75% screen to body aspect display ratio and tiny side bezels. All in all, it’s easy to hold the smartphone and the thumb can reach most of the screen part when held.

OS, Performance and Multitasking

The Camon X Pro ships Android Oreo 8.1 out of the box based on TECNO’s custom HIOS UI. The UI is kind of different now as shown in the image below. Tapping on the menu, one would have to scroll down to see other installed apps though app shortcuts can be added on the home screen.

In terms of performance and multitasking, the Helio P23 is one of the strongest MTK chipsets yet and it was supported by a 4GB RAM and a huge 64GB internal memory. As it is customary, there are pre-installed apps and files so we have like 52GB left on the internal memory.

To further test its ability to handle heavy applications and multitasking, I ran the game Dream League Soccer 2018 and it played smoothly without lagging.

TECNO Camon X Pro Review: Camera

Yeah, the camera; the reason there was a Camon device in the first place. It’s no news the X Pro comes with a 24MP front camera with LED flash light, while there is a 16MP rear camera with ring flash. TECNO also added an on-screen flash light when taking selfies, a feature seen in premium devices like the Galaxy S8+ and S9+.

X Pro also comes with Portrait mode as seen in phones like the Apple iPhone X which focus on the on-screen subject and blurs out the background.

We are gonna be making a comparison of pictures taken with the Camon X Pro and a Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus, I will leave you guys to be the judge.

Security and Battery Life Review

Kudos to TECNO on this, we have more security options with the Face ID recognition. In like 1-2 secs, the X Pro recognises the face registered on it and unlocks immediately; this is actually very effective and faster than the face ID of the S8+

On the battery life, it takes a little above 2hrs to charge fully from zero percent. The image below shows how many time left on standby at 65%, when charged fully it actually lasts a day at normal usage.

Final Thoughts – TECNO Camon X Pro Review

Not only does the smartphone supports all 4G network band in the country, review above shows it’s definitely worth whatever the price tag TECNO will put on it. Go get yours when it hits the market.
