You Can Now Switch Between Two WhatsApp Accounts on One Device

WhatsApp is giving users the option to have two active accounts on one device. Users will be able to switch between two accounts on one device without needing to log out or use another phone. The feature is rolling out on Android for now and should be available on iOS soon.

For users who prefer to have separate accounts for work and personal use, it is a useful feature. While staying logged in on both accounts, users can switch seamlessly and reply to messages from both accounts on one device.

In a blog post, WhatsApp notes that users would still need a second phone number and SIM card to create a second account. An easier way is to have a phone that accepts multi-SIM or eSIM to create a second account. In WhatsApp settings, users have to click on an arrow next to the username, and then click “Add account” to add a second account.

WhatsApp has been rolling out a lot of useful updates. In May, the company gave users the option to use their account on multiple devices, and recently the ability to control when messages disappear after sending. Android users can now also use passkeys to log in securely.
