WhatsApp has announced that it will roll out a new option over the “next few months” to automatically share Status updates on Facebook and Instagram Stories. The feature will be made possible by adding WhatsApp to Accounts Centre, where you can manage all your Meta apps in one place.
Meta introduced Accounts Centre in 2020, which has helped people manage their Facebook, Instagram, and Meta Quest accounts in one place. However, Meta says each app is separate, and adding WhatsApp to Accounts Centre is “completely optional.” In WhatsApp’s status privacy settings, users can choose whether they want their updates to be shared with Facebook and Instagram.
In addition to the cross-posting and connected experiences across the Meta apps, the company will introduce a single sign-on for WhatsApp so users can easily access their accounts in just a few steps. All calls and personal messages sent on WhatsApp will still be end-to-end encrypted.
“Over time, we’ll keep adding more features that work across our apps for people who want them, like the ability to manage your avatars, Meta AI stickers, and your Imagine Me creations all in one place,” Meta shared in a news post.
Last week, WhatsApp introduced new features and design updates, including the option to make quicker reactions.
