Ahead of its lineup of games and accessories for the new year, Sony has launched a new PS5 commercial and started some fresh marketing. Earlier in January, PlayStation chief Jim Ryan confirmed the PS5 console shortage was over, and Sony has now reiterated that again in a blog post promising an “increased supply of PS5 consoles.”
“To all our fans: thank you for your patience as we navigated unprecedented demand for the PS5 console amid global challenges. If you’re looking to purchase a PS5 console, you should now have a much easier time finding one at retailers globally,” Isabelle Tomatis, VP of Brand, Hardware and Peripherals at Sony Interactive Entertainment shared.
PS5 consoles, games, and accessories can be purchased directly from direct.playstation.com for players in the U.S., UK, France, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg.
Sony recently released the DualSense Edge wireless controller for the PS5, while the PSVR2 will be launching on February 2nd with more than 30 games, including Horizon Call of the Mountain, Gran Turismo 7 and Resident Evil Village.
The new “Live from PS5” commercial features a lot of gaming references, including the ones yet to be released. Some games lined up for the year include Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Final Fantasy XVI, Hogwarts Legacy, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Resident Evil 4: Remake and Street Fighter 6, as well as upcoming expansions like Destiny 2: Lightfall and Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores.
