Sony’s PlayStation VR2 headset will arrive on February 22, 2023 and will launch with the PS VR2 Sense controller and charging station, the company announced on Wednesday. The PS VR2 headset will cost $549.99 in the US, €599.99 in Europe, £529.99 in the UK, and ¥74,980 in Japan. Sony will also sell the Sense controller charging station separately for $49.99 / €49.99 / £39.99 / ¥5,480.
Sony will also have a PlayStation VR2 Horizon Call of the Mountain bundle for $599.99 / €649.99 / £569.99 / ¥79,98, which will include a voucher code for the game, and all other accessories coming with the regular PS VR2. Other standalone games for the PS VR2, including Horizon Call of the Mountain, will be available for pre-orders later in November.
Pre-orders for the PlayStation VR2 headset will open on November 15th through the PlayStation online store initially only for players in the U.S., U.K., France, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, and Luxembourg. Registration is open for pre-orders from today, and Sony will start shipping orders in the launch week. For other markets, players can make pre-orders from participating retailers from November 15th.
“PlayStation VR2 Sense Technology includes key features that enable unique gameplay experiences, such as headset feedback, eye tracking, 3D audio, and the adaptive triggers and haptic feedback from the PS VR2 Sense controllers,” Sony shared in a PlayStation blog post. “Together with compatible games they will captivate players’ senses and offer an incredibly deep feeling of immersion.”
Apart from the already announced games, Sony also revealed new games coming to the PS VR2. Sony says more than 20 titles will be dropping at launch for its next-gen VR headset.
