Ahead of the launch of the revamped PlayStation Plus subscription service in the Americas on June 13th, Sony is making 2018’s God of War available as part of June’s PlayStation Plus free games. When the new three-tier PlayStation Plus subscription launches in less than two weeks, the critically-acclaimed God of War will be available on PlayStation Plus Essential alongside Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker and Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl.
Players with an existing subscription on PS Plus will be migrated to PS Plus Essential but all three games can be added to the library from June 4th to July 7th. Pricing for PS Plus Essential remains the same at $9.99 monthly as the existing PS Plus subscription, but players who want more would have to pay for the Extra and Premium subscription which offers a huge library of PS4 and PS5 games with other benefits.
God of War: Ragnarök, the sequel to 2018’s God of War is expected to be released later this year and Sony is expected to announce a special event soon dedicated to the upcoming game. Making God of War available for free could be Sony’s way of making more customers who are yet to play the game get in the groove ahead of the release of Ragnarök.
