Sony’s new three-tier PlayStation Plus subscription service arrives in June in the Americas and Europe and the company on Monday announced the games coming to the service in a PlayStation blog post.

Sony said it is focused on adding quality games to the revamped subscription service and subscribers can expect to see great first-party titles when the three-tier plan goes live first in Asia (excluding Japan) on May 23rd, Japan on June 1st, the Americas on June 13th and in Europe on June 22nd.

Customers who subscribe to the PlayStation Plus Extra plan which costs $14.99 monthly or the PlayStation Plus Premium plan which costs $17.99 monthly will have access to lots of first-party titles including Bloodborne (PS4), Death Stranding + Director’s Cut (PS4, PS5), Demon’s Souls (PS5), Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut (PS4, PS5), God of War (PS4), Returnal (PS5), and Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End (PS4) at launch. List of third-party titles includes Assassin’s Creed Valhalla (PS4, PS5), Far Cry 4 (PS4), Mortal Kombat 11 (PS4, PS5), NBA 2K22 (PS4, PS5) and many more.

Customers with subscriptions to the Premium plan will have access to popular classic games at launch with improved frame rates and better resolution than their original versions at launch, according to Sony. Games will include PS1 and PSP classic games. Sony says customers who have purchased digital versions of select games from the PS1 and PSP generation will be able to play these games without any additional charges on their PS4 and PS5 consoles. Sony also promised that some remastered classics will be added to the Premium library of games. Classic first-party titles players can expect to enjoy from PS1 and PSP include Ape Escape, Hot Shots Golf, Syphon Filter and many more while the third-party catalogue includes Tekken 2 and Mr. Driller. Players will also be able to stream and play first-party and third-party PS3 titles on the PS4, PS5 and PC.

Sony is offering time-limited game trials on the Premium plan that will let players play most games for two hours (playtime counts only when the game is on). Players can choose whether to buy these games or not after the trials and any trophies and game saves from the trials will be carried over to the full game if a purchase is finally made. Games that can be tried include Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection (PS5), Horizon Forbidden West (PS4, PS5), Cyberpunk 2077 (PS5) and WWE 2K22 (PS4, PS5).

In a blog post, Ubisoft announced it will launch Ubisoft+ Classics on Sony’s PlayStation Plus service on May 24th. This will be “a curated selection of popular games, including top-selling Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, The Division, and For Honor, as well as beloved classic games like Child of Light, Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon, Watch Dogs, Werewolves Within, and more. The Ubisoft+ Classics catalogue for PlayStation Plus will launch with 27 titles and will grow to 50 by the end of 2022,” the company announced. Ubisoft+ with more than 100 titles will also come to PlayStation “in the future.” Ubisoft+ is already available on the PC, Stadia, Amazon Luna and it will also come to the Xbox at a later date.

Sony says it will continue to refresh the games library for its new three-tier PlayStation Plus plan with new titles from the PS5 and PS4. The revamped service is Sony’s answer to Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass but unlike the latter, Sony will not be offering fresh first-party titles at launch. A complete list of all titles coming at launch is available on the PlayStation blog.
