Sucker Punch today announced a new Legends update coming to Ghost of Tsushima this fall. The update brings a new co-op multiplayer mode which is totally different from Jin’s journey and the side quests of the main story.
Legends introduces four warriors created from stories told by people of Tsushima and its inspired by Japanese mythology. It is haunting and gives a different gameplay experience with new locations and enemies.
“We designed Legends to be an exclusively cooperative gameplay experience,” wrote Darren Bridges, Senior Game Designer at Sucker Punch. “You’ll be able to partner up with friends or via online matchmaking and play Legends in groups of 2-4 players. Each player can choose from one of four different character classes: the Samurai, Hunter, Ronin, or Assassin. Each class has unique advantages and abilities that we’ll reveal in the future.”
With two players in a cooperative combat, you partner up to play Story missions which increases in difficulty as the game progresses. The success of each mission depends on how you and partner can play together as a team. Four players co-op introduces a series of Survival missions with the players fighting legendary enemies which includes new Oni enemies with supernatural abilities.
Beating the Story and Survival missions gives you access “to take on the four-player Raid that will arrive shortly after the launch of Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, sending you and your partners to an entirely new realm to challenge a brutal, terrifying enemy.
Sucker Punch promises to share more on the upcoming Legends update as it draws closer.
