Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding is getting a director’s cut coming to the PS5. The trailer was revealed today during the Summer Game Fest 2021 Kickoff event. While no release date has been revealed yet, a full reveal is expected to be shown in the coming weeks. The game was originally released on November 8, 2019 for the PlayStation 4 earning numerous nominations and winning several awards.
In the trailer, protagonist Sam Porter Bridges (Norman Reedus) can be seen doing his best Solid Snake impression with an empty orange carton. Not much is known about the director’s cut coming to the PS5 but Sony calls it “enhanced and expanded” which means it will come with support for faster frame rates, higher resolution and improved graphics. It could also take advantage of the DualSense controller’s technical capabilities.
Since its release on the PS4, the gas has since been ported to the PC receiving positive reviews.
