Polish studio, CD Projekt as part of its third-quarter 2021 report provided an update on its embattled Cyberpunk 2077 RGP game. The company says it is “hard at work” to release the PS5, Xbox Series X/S version of the game alongside another “major update” in the first quarter of 2022. The next-gen update was initially scheduled for a late 2021 release before it was delayed till 2022 in October.
CD Projekt did not go into detail concerning the major update but said there is an “ongoing work” on Cyberpunk 2077 expansion as well as the next-gen version of The Witcher 3. The company also allayed fears saying it is “on track to meet their target dates.” While the next-gen upgrade Cyberpunk 2077 is expected to be released early in 2002, The Witcher 3 upgrade won’t come out till the second quarter of 2022. The upgrades are expected to feature ray-tracing and faster load times thanks to the powerful next-gen hardware.
Those who already own the PS4 or Xbox One version of the games will get the next-gen upgrade for free when it comes out in 2022.
CD Projekt reported a 40% increase in quarterly revenues posting 144 million PLN despite Cyberpunk 2077’s well-reported struggles.
