Apple today announced “Apple Music Sing,” a karaoke mode integrated into the Apple Music app. Apple Music Sing will be rolling out later in December and will be available to subscribers globally on the iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV 4K.
“Apple Music’s lyrics experience is consistently one of the most popular features on our service,” Apple’s vice president of Apple Music and Beats, Oliver Schusser said in a press release. “We already know our users all over the world love to follow along to their favourite songs, so we wanted to evolve this offering even further to enable even more engagement around music through singing. It’s really a lot of fun, our customers are going to love it.”
Apple Music Sing will have multiple lyrics views so users can sing along and perform duets. There will be animated real-time lyrics in Sing, and fans can make background vocals. Sing will come with customizable options such as adjustable vocal levels, taking the lead on songs and the ability to mix up on “tens of millions” on Apple Music.
Apple will also launch more than 50 dedicated companion playlists with singable songs that are fully optimized for Sing.
