It is official, Apple has announced an iPhone 16 event for September 9th at 1PM ET / 10AM PT. Dubbed ‘It’s Glowtime,’ the event will take place in person at the Steve Jobs Theatre at Apple Park.
Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 16 lineup, including the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max. The new iPhones are expected to come with upgrades over the iPhone 15 lineup, with a much more powerful A18 chipset and improvements to the camera and software.
If the rumours are true, Apple will be switching to vertical back camera alignment for the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, but the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are expected to keep the familiar three-camera layout with upgraded sensors and performance. There might also be a new bronze colour addition to the Pro models.
Last year’s iPhone 15 Pro models saw the introduction of the Action Button. All four iPhone 16 models are expected to feature the Action Button, and there might be a new dedicated capture button for controlling the camera app.
You can watch the event live on the Apple website, via the TV app on the iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV, and on Apple’s official YouTube channel.
