Twitter Spaces, the company’s answer to live audio chat app Clubhouse will soon have the option for users to tip their hosts. Twitter plans to rollout spaces to all users next month which means anyone can now be a host.
Twitter confirmed it had been testing a Tip Jar feature in Spaces within a small group of users to AdWeek. Developer Jane Manchun Wong share screenshots of the Tip Jar within a live Twitter Spaces session. Payment platforms Bandcamp, Cash App, Patreon, PayPal and Venmo will be integrated within Spaces which will allow listeners to their hosts.
Twitter has been working on a paid subscription model and the company recently announced “Super Follows” which will let creators monetize their tweets by charging for exclusive contents. Twitter revealed a monthly subscription model of $4.99 which can be cancelled at any time.
