2019 has seen several TECNO smartphones which are targeted at the budget and mid-level consumers. Some of these products include the TECNO Camon 12 Pro and the TECNO Pouvoir 3 Plus. Both devices feature specs that will excite many users; thus, it might be difficult to choose between them.

For this reason, I have written this TECNO Camon 12 Pro vs Pouvoir 3 Plus article to show which device stands as the better choice. Let’s begin our review by looking at the specs on both devices.

TECNO Camon 12 Pro vs Pouvoir 3 Plus: Design and Display

A 6.35 AMOLED screen covers the front panel of the Camon 12 Pro while the Pourvoir 3 Plus also sports the same type of display. However, the Pourvoir 3 Plus delivers images at 1548 × 720 pixels against the Camon 12 Pro ‘s 720 × 1600 pixels.

Even if the phones exhibit different display features, their screens look similar. For instance, both smartphones sport dot notches that house their selfie cameras. Furthermore, you will also notice that both devices have narrow bezels around the screens.

The Pouvoir 3 Plus has a rear-mounted finger scanner that lies beside its camera. Besides, the Camon 12 Pro swaps this type of scanner for an in-display fingerprint scanner. However, both devices have their volume and power buttons on the same position of the panels.

Colour choices on the Camon 12 Pro are restricted to Dawn Blue but the Pouvoir 3 Plus comes in gold, black and blue.

When it comes to optics, the Camon 12 Pro deserves applause as it comes with a 16MP primary sensor, 8MP secondary camera and a 2MP depth sensor for crisp images. It also features a Quad-LED flash for night time shots while offering additional specs such as Panorama, HDR and 1080p videos.

However, the Pouvoir 3 Plus holds its own with a 13MP primary sensor, 5MP wide-angle camera, and a 2MP depth sensor. Also, it works with Quad Flash and supports HDR, Panorama and AutoFocus.

On the selfie front, the Camon 12 Pro has a 32MP sensor that overshadows the Pouvoir 3 Plus ‘s 8MP camera.

The Camon 12 Pro functions with an octa-core Mediatek MT6762 Helio P22 processor which clocks at 2.0 GHz. This processor works beside a PowerVR GE8320 GPU. Finally, it has an internal storage of 64GB for media files and 6GB worth of RAM.

The Pouvoir 3 Plus offers a Mediatek Helio P22 SoC with an octa-core processor which clocks at 2.0GHz. Paired with its PowerVR GE8100 GPU, 3/4GB RAM, and 32/64GB ROM it allows faster speeds, easy multitasking, and premium performance.

Both devices feature TECNO’s in-house skin and Google’s Andriod 9 Pie.

An embedded 3000mAh battery powers the Camon 12 Pro but there are no details about this phone supporting fast charging technology. Besides, the Pouvoir Plus promises extended hours of gameplay and movies with its massive 6000mah battery.

Both phones have connectivity options such as WiFi, GPS, FM radio, Bluetooth 5.0 and MicroUSB 2.0. Both phones also have a traditional 3.5mm headphone jack.

Both phones are available on a wide selection of online stores as well as offline retailers across Nigeria.

Across various stores, the Camon 12 Pro costs between N60,000 – N65,000 while a unit of the Pouvoir 3 Plus goes for N46,000 – N50,000.


After comparing the specs of TECNO Camon 12 Pro vs Pouvoir 3 Plus, I would suggest the Camon 12 Pro as an ideal option because it offers a larger screen size and better cameras. It also has an in-display fingerprint sensor which looks trendy and sophisticated.


However, this does not mean the Pouvoir 3 Plus is a poor choice after all it has a better battery while offering a great camera at an affordable price.
