Currently, the smartphone market has witnessed the launch of interesting devices particularly in the budget-friendly category. Two of such devices is the Infinix Hot 8 vs TECNO Spark 3 which fall within the same price range and offer the slightly similar specs.

Apart from the screens, the devices exhibit major differences in their design. For example, the Infinix smartphone adopts the trendy waterdrop notch for its selfie camera while the Spark 3 maintains a traditional bathtub notch on its front panel. However, both phones have slim bezels that end in slightly larger chins.
Glass covers the back panels of both phones. On the same position, you will find centrally placed fingerprint scanners beside their camera and flash setups. Furthermore, both phones also sport their power and volume buttons on the right edges of their respective frames.
If you are looking for a device with numerous colours, both phones will meet your need. For instance, the Spark 3 comes in Midnight Black, Champagne Gold, Aqua Blue, Bordeaux Red while the Hot 8 will dazzle in Quetzal Cyan, Cosmic Purple, Shark Grey and (the previously named) Midnight Black.

The Infinix Hot 8 has a triple rear camera setup that consists of a 13MP main sensor, 2MP depth sensor and QVGA for photos in low light environments. It even features Quad-LED flash, panorama, HDR while shooting 1080p videos at 30fps.
Under this section, the Spark 3 serves as the underdog as it delivers a dual 13MP camera with Auto Focus. It also provides an AI Beauty Mode and shoots 1080p videos at 30fps.
For selfies, both devices support 8MP cameras with LED flashes. So, if you are choosing a phone based on its selfie camera quality, both devices will suit your want.
Infinix Hot 8 vs TECNO Spark 3 – Hardware and Software
The Hot 8 comes in two variants. One runs on a Mediatek MT6761 Helio A22 chipset that supports 2GB RAM /32GB ROM while the second has Mediatek MT6762 Helio P22 processor with 4GB RAM/64GB ROM. Both models have a PowerVR GE8320 GPU.
But the TECNO Spark 3 has a Mediatek MT6761 Helio A22 processor with a PowerVR GE8320 GPU, 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM for media files.
On the software front, the TECNO Spark 3 has its in-house HIOS 5.0 skin based on Android 9 Pie. Besides the Hot 8 also features the Android 9 Pie but with the XOS 5.0 skin.
Infinix Hot 8 vs TECNO Spark 3 – Battery and Connectivity
The Spark 3 runs on a 3500mAh battery that is fixed to the panel while the Infinix Hot 8 brings a massive 5000mah powerhouse for longer hours of social media, games, and movies.
If you are looking for a phone with traditional Wifi, Wifi hotspot, Bluetooth, GPS, MicroUSB 2.0 and a radio, invest in the Spark 3. But if you prefer these features combined with Wifi Direct and USB OTG, choose the Infinix Hot 8. Finally, both phones support a 3.5mm audio jack for headphones.
Infinix Hot 8 vs TECNO Spark 3 – Price and Availability
Currently, the Hot 8 price in Nigeria is set at N36,500.
After comparing Infinix Hot 8 vs TECNO Spark 3, I would invest in the Infinix Hot 8 as it promises better specs at a seemingly affordable price. First, it has a larger screen size which is suitable for browsing with less scrolling. It also has a better camera than the Spark 3. Finally, it offers a larger battery which translates to long hours of calls or entertainment.
But the Spark 3 is not entirely a weak phone after all it offers a reasonable camera, screen size and build. Overall, it stands as an ideal option for the Infinx Hot 8.
