Spotify Officially Launches in Nigeria on Google Play and Apple App Store

Spotify video podcasts

Yesterday, Spotify announced it is expanding into more than 80 new markets spread across Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Europe and Latin America. The audio streaming app officially made its debut today on the Nigerian Google Play and Apple App Stores.

Android users can download it here on Google Play, while iOS users can download it here on the Apple App Store. Interestingly, Spotify is using the same competitive pricing as Apple Music for its Individual Premium plan, both charge 900.00 NGN. Spotify offers Premium for Students at 450.00 NGN, Spotify Premium Duo at 1,200.00 NGN. Spotify Premium Family at 1,400.00 NGN.

I already made the switch from Apple Music to Spotify. It will be interesting to see how many Nigerians will make the switch since most are already familiar with other streaming apps such as Boomplay, Deezer and Audiomack.

Nigerians are pretty hyped for it on Twitter and below are some reactions:

Will you be making the switch? Let us know in the comments.
