Spotify Wrapped 2024 has landed, and it’s that time of the year again when the streaming platform summarises your music experience for the year. This year’s Wrapped adds new features, including an AI-generated podcast that discusses your music habits for the year.
Like in previous years, once you update your iOS and Android app to the latest version, you can access your Spotify Wrapped 2024 from the home screen. Spotify says this year’s Wrapped contains a “new data story” that “reveals the musical phases that uniquely defined your year.” Listeners can see up to three musical phases with displays including descriptors, genres, and artists.
Built with Google’s NotebookLM, Wrapped 2024 includes an AI-generated podcast about your music listening habits. This podcast is delivered by two AI-generated hosts that let you dive deeply into your year’s top songs, artists, and genres. This feature is only available in English to Free and Premium users in the U.S., the U.K., Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Ireland, and Sweden for a limited time.
The fan favourite AI DJ has added a new feature for Premium users: “commentary about your year alongside the music that soundtracked it.” This feature includes the Spanish language, and the AI DJ will provide users with insights about their music experience for 2024.
Premium users can access a new AI Playlist feature that turns their music ideas into personalised playlists. Spotify says this feature will be available beyond Wrapped and will be part of the music experience for users.
Apple Music, YouTube Music, and Amazon Music have all joined the recap trend for 2024, but Spotify’s Wrapped remains the most popular social media platform.
