Sony has announced a new a new Xperia L4 smartphone which will be available in select markets this Spring. The device features a 6.2-inch HD+ display with a 21:9 aspect ratio. It is larger than the predecessor L3 and brings a more cinematic experience. The tall screen also makes it easier to use two apps simultaneously in portrait mode.
At the back is its triple rear camera which is made up of a 13MP wide-angle lens with phase-detect autofocus, a 5MP ultrawide angle lens and a 2MP depth sensor. It has a LED flashlight above the triple rear camera while the fingerprint sensor is mounted at the back.
The Xperia L4, however, is more of a low-end to mid-range device and it shares the same chipset and storage with the L3. It comes with a MediaTek Helio P22 chipset, a 3GB RAM and a built-in 64GB internal memory. The 3.5mm audio jack is maintained just as found on the L3. It runs on Android 9.0 Pie and has a PowerVR GE8320 GPU for graphics.
On the battery side, it has a non-removable Li-ion 3580mAh battery and USB Type-C reversible port which supports fast charge.
Since it’s an entry-level device, it will be available in select markets come second quarter of this year in Black and Blue colours. Its retail price has been set at €200.
