First announced during June’s PlayStation State of Play as Project Defiant, Sony on Monday finally shared new details about its wireless fight stick. The device is called FlexStrike, and it is Sony’s first fight stick controller.

The FlexStrike fight stick is compatible with the PS5 or PC wirelessly via the PlayStation Link or a wired connection. It features mechanical switch buttons and toolless swappable restrictor gates, which include square, circle, and octagon restrictor gates that fit into the fight stick’s built-in storage compartments alongside the included PS Link USB adapter.

With a single PlayStation Link, players can simultaneously connect the FlexStrike fight stick and a Pulse Elite wireless headset or Pulse Explore wireless earbuds to the PS5. For co-ops with friends, two FlexStrike wireless fight sticks can also be connected to the PS5 via a single PS Link USB adapter. Sony says the fight stick will have an updated PS Link USB adapter that is compatible with USB-C ports.

The FlexStrike wireless fight stick features the same familiar buttons and game control inputs available on the DualSense controller, and a touchpad. It also provides additional customization options that allow directional switch inputs with a built-in lever mode switch, a lock in the layout to prevent accidental button taps with a dedicated button. The fight stick has a PlayStation button that wakes up the PS5 console with a quick press when connected.

The FlexStrike fight stick comes with a built-in rechargeable battery, and Sony is bundling it with a sling carrying case. The device launches in 2026, with Sony to share more details later.
