God of War Ragnarök launches on November 9th on the PS5 and PS4, and Sony released a new story trailer for the game during its State of Play on Tuesday. The three minutes-long trailer – a mix of cinematics and real gameplay shows some of the battles Kratos and his son, Atreus must face as the threat of Ragnarök looms.

God of War Ragnarök picks up its story after the events of 2018’s award-winning God of War released on PS4. In August, Sony released a trailer titled Myths of Midgard that tells the father and son’s story and what has led to the impending Ragnarök. Ragnarök in Norse mythology represents the end of the world, and Kratos and Atreus must fight to prevent this and defend the nine realms.

Sony is also releasing a limited edition Ragnarök-themed DualSense wireless controller. “Its two-tone, cool blue on icy white design was inspired by the Norse world of Midgard, further embellished with bear and wolf insignia – representing Kratos and Atreus,” Sony explained in a PlayStation blog post.

The controller will be available on November 9th, the same day God of War Ragnarök launches, but its pre-orders will begin from September 27th.
