Samsung today announced the Galaxy Tab S7 and S7+, the successor to the Galaxy Tab S6. With the launch of the new tablets, Samsung remains in the high-end tablet market and wants to compete with Apple’s iPad Pro and Microsoft’s Surface. The new tablets feature the powerful Snapdragon 865+ chipset, 5G connectivity and support for an optional keyboard peripheral which can be used with DeX experience.
The base model Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 has an 11-inch LCD panel with a 2560 x 1600 resolution and a 120Hz screen. The S7+ features a 12.4-inch AMOLED panel with a 2800 x 1752 resolution. All other specifications are virtually the same with both tablets offering up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.
Bothe tablets feature four AKG speakers and they support Dolby Atmos for better improved entertainment. At the back is a dual camera setup of a 13MP main shooter and a 5MP ultrawide lens. There is also a magnetic strip to keep the S Pen at the back of both tablets. In front is an 8MP camera for video calls. While the Galaxy Tab S7+ has its fingerprint scanner built in the display, the smaller Tab S7 has its own mounted on the side due to its LCD screen.
Both tablets ship Android 10 out of the box based on the One UI and they support USB-C charging up to 45W. The Galaxy Tab S7+ has a 10,090mAh battery while the smaller S7 has an 8,000mAh battery. There are three connectivity options – WiFi only, LTE and 5G.
Shipping starts August 21 and the tablets will be available in Mystic Black, Mystic Silver and Mystic Bronze colour options. The Tab S7 will cost $649 while the Tab S7+ will set you back by $849.
