Qualcomm has announced its latest chipset, the Snapdragon 865+ and it is an upgrade of its flagship Snapdragon 865 chipset. The new chipset is powerful and it is designed for intensive gaming action.
The Snapdragon 865 Plus chipset has a clock speed of 3.1Ghz on its Kyro 585 CPU which is 10 percent faster than that of the regular 865. Its Adreno GPU is 10 percent faster in graphics rendering and the new SoC is compatible with Qualcomm’s FastConnect 6900 connectivity suite which offers a maximum Wi-Fi speed of 3.6Gbps.

Last year, Qualcomm did the same by announcing a Snapdragon 855+ model, a refresh of its then flagship Snapdragon 855. The latest flagship will deliver a global 5G connectivity via the external X55 modem and it will support both sub-6 GHz and mmWave). Its ISP and DSP are the same as the regular 865 and QuickCharge 4.0+ comes with AI control.
Phones will start shipping with Snapdragon 865 Plus in Q3 according to Samsung which means it won’t be on the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 series which has been confirmed for an August launch date. Two upcoming gaming smartphones have already been confirmed to feature the chipset – Asus ROG Phone 3 and the Lenovo Legion.
