Remember the Poco M2 Pro that was announced in July? Poco has now announced a stripped-down variant called the Poco M2.
The new Poco M2 ships Android 10 out of the box based on the MIUI 11. It is powered by a MediaTek Helio G80 chipset which is paired with a 6GB RAM. There is a 64GB/128GB internal storage which is expandable up to 512GB via the microSD card. The smartphone has a 6.53” FHD+ display and it is protected by a Gorilla Glass 3. In front is a waterdrop notch which houses the 8MP selfie camera.
At the back is the fingerprint scanner and a quad camera setup which is made up of a 13MP main shooter, an 8MP ultrawide camera, a 5MP macro and a 2MP depth sensor.
The smartphone comes with a 5,000mAh battery which is powered via the USB-C port with support for 18W fast charging. The power adapter that comes with it can only go as high as 10W which means you have to spend on a faster adapter. Other features include a 3.5mm audio jack, IR Blaster and a P2i water-repelling nano-coating.
The base model with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage will retail for INR10,999 ($150/€125), and if you spend INR1,500 ($20/€17) more, you get 128GB storage variant. The Poco M2 is available in Brick Red, Pitch Black and Slate Blue colours, it will be available in India via Flipkart from September 15.
