The Nintendo Switch 2 rumours are not going away anytime soon. Earlier in January, there were reports that the next Switch would arrive in 2024 and it would cost $400. According to new reports, Nintendo is now targeting a Q1 2025 release window.

Brazilian journalist Pedro Henrique Lutti Lippe first broke the story. He stated that he confirmed from 5 sources from 3 different continents that the successor to the Switch would now arrive in 2025. Following his story, VGC confirmed the news from multiple sources who said Nintendo has informed publishers that the Switch 2 will arrive in 2025. According to Bloomberg,Nintendo has told some publishing executives not to expect the console until March 2025 at the earliest.” Eurogamer also corroborated the story stating that “the console’s launch moving into early next year – but still within the coming financial year – is designed to ensure Switch 2’s launch line-up features as many titles as possible, Eurogamer understands.”

An earlier report from Bloomberg states that the Nintendo Switch 2 will have an 8-inch LCD screen, just like the original Switch. Nintendo released an OLED version in 2021 and it is expected the company would follow a similar model for the Switch’s successor.

The seven-year-old Nintendo Switch is one of the best-selling consoles with more than 139 million units sold. There are high expectations for the Switch 2 following the success of the Switch.
