Nintendo has launched a music streaming service exclusive to Nintendo Switch Online subscribers. The service is available via a new Nintendo Music app that can be downloaded on phones and smart devices. The app provides soundtracks from a host of Nintendo games, including fan favourites such as Mario, Animal Crossing, and The Legend of Zelda.
The Nintendo Music app has a user interface similar to that of Spotify. Soundtracks are organised by games, and there are themed playlists, playlists depending on your mood and several recommendations. Fans can select tracks based on their favourite characters, and there is a spoiler-prevention feature in the app settings which hides game track info when turned on. Players can choose to extend a track and keep it on repeat for up to an hour instead of the default play time.
The music streaming app is available on Android and iOS devices. Players will be able to accept the app with a Switch Online membership, while non-members can sign up for a 7-day free trial. Every member of a Switch Online Family subscription can also access the music app without an individual subscription.
