Nintendo is increasing the prices of the original Nintendo Switch family of systems and products in the US, citing “market conditions.”

The price increases take effect on August 3rd, and the affected products include the Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch – OLED, Nintendo Switch Lite, and select Nintendo accessories. Other Nintendo products, including certain Nintendo Switch 2 accessories, select amiibo, and the Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo, will also see price adjustments.

Pricing for the recently released Nintendo Switch 2 system, its physical and digital Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2 games are not affected at this time. Nintendo Switch Online membership prices also remain unchanged. But Nintendo has hinted that “price adjustments may be necessary in the future.”

At the time of the announcement, Nintendo did not state what the new prices would be. The original Nintendo Switch retails for $299.99 in the US, while the OLED model costs $349.99.

Earlier in the week, Nintendo announced a similar price hike in Canada. The original Switch now costs an additional $20 CAD.

On Friday, Nintendo released its first quarter earnings for the current fiscal year, where it shared that the Nintendo Switch 2 has shipped 5.82 million units since its release in June.
