It’s been expected to happen and Netflix today finally announced it will start rolling out gaming entertainment to its Android app tomorrow, with iOS support expected in the coming months. Netflix Games will come to the mobile app and users will be able to play “exclusive games” with no ads, no additional fees and without in-app purchases.
The first five games that will be available are Stranger Things: 1984, Stranger Things 3, Shooting Hoops, Card Blast and Teeter Up. To have access to the games, users with an active Netflix subscription can open the mobile app, navigate to Netflix Games from the homepage or games tab and select the desired game to play out of the available five. The game will be downloaded via Google Play for Android users and the App Store for iOS users but it will be played through the Netflix app. Games on the app can be played with supported Bluetooth controllers.
Netflix is expected to start rolling out games to the app itself from November 3rd, and its recent acquisition of Night School Studio might be an indication it has some titles on the way. Netflix Games has been in the works for a while before its official rollout, the streaming giant tested the feature in Poland, Spain and Italy.
