The second season ended with a major cliffhanger, but you won’t have to wait too long to see Squid Game‘s third and final season. In a TUDUM news post, Netflix announced that the third season of the hit TV show will drop on June 27. The streamer also revealed that Squid Game is now its biggest non-English series of all time.
The first season of Squid Game debuted on Netflix in 2021, and the show became the streamer’s biggest series launch ever. It took a long three-year wait for fans to finally get a second season, but the third and final season will now be available in roughly six months in June. In related news, Netflix revealed that the first season of Squid Game is its most downloaded series of all time, while the second season of the hit show is number three on the list, behind Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.
In an expansive trailer announcing the final season of Squid Game and its upcoming projects, Netflix called 2025 its “biggest year ever.” The almost three-minute trailer confirmed that Stranger Things season 5, Love is Blind season 8, Black Mirror season 7, Wednesday season 2, a new Knives Out murder mystery movie, and many other blockbusters will be released in 2025.
The third season of Squid Game, led by Lee Jae, will pick up after the devasting effects of the season 2 finale.
