Microsoft on Sunday announced a new Carbon Black Xbox Series S with 1TB of storage that will launch on September 1st. The new console is priced at $349, and pre-orders are underway. The Xbox Series S black variant keeps the same specifications as the original Series S but doubles its storage for an additional price of $50.

Xbox Game Studios CEO Phil Spencer announced the new variant of Series S during the Xbox Games Showcase and added that the company had increased its shipments to meet the demands of the Xbox Series X.

The carbon black Series S is “the same sleek, modern matte finish” as the Xbox Series X and the Xbox Wireless Controller, Xbox Senior Marketing Manager Bree Adams said in a blog post.

The black Xbox Series S launches in time on September 1st for the release of upcoming blockbusters like Starfield and Forza Motorsport. It offers gaming features like Quick Resume, lightning-fast load times, and gameplay of up to 120 FPS.
