Very soon, users will be able to enjoy Microsoft’s Xbox Cloud Gaming on their Meta Quest VR systems. The Verge reports that the companies announced the partnership on Tuesday at Meta’s Connect event, but no release date was announced yet.
“You’ll be able to play 2D games with your Xbox controller projected on a massive screen on Quest,” Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said about the partnership.
Games on the Xbox Cloud Gaming library won’t be native VR games initially, but users will enjoy an immersive experience with the app while playing on the Quest VR systems. The partnership also allows Microsoft to grow its cloud gaming user base.
Another thing on the cards between Meta and Microsoft is better integration of the companies’ products. Both companies are working on integrating Microsoft platforms, such as the Microsoft Teams workplace chat app and the Microsoft 365 suite of productivity apps with the Quest.
