Developed by Insomniac Games for the PS4 and PS5, Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered and Miles Morales are now heading to the PC. Sony made the announcement at its PlayStation State of Play on Thursday, a move contrary to a tweet made by Insomniac Games in 2017 that the games would “never appear on Xbox or PC.”
At a presentation to investors in May, Sony said it will bring more first-party titles to PC, so it’s probably not a surprise that the hugely successful Spider-Man series is coming to PC. In a PlayStation blog post, Insomniac Games’ Ryan Schneider said the series has sold more than 33 million copies globally, as of May 15, 2022 making it one of Sony’s biggest titles ever. Miles Morales was a launch title for the PS5, while Spider-Man was released originally for the PS4 before it was remastered for the PS5 in 2020.
Spider-Man Remastered will launch on PC on August 12th, 2022 while Miles Morales will be available in the fall. Sony’s Nixes Software studio is responsible for porting the games to PC, and a trailer for Spider-Man Remastered was showcased. Spider-Man Remastered will be playable on PC with a controller, or mouse and keyboard, it will also have additional features such as adjustable render settings and ray-traced reflections.
Spider-Man Remastered will include the full main story and Spider-Man: The City That Never Sleeps DLC, which features three accompanying story chapters in Peter Parker’s journey along with additional missions and challenges, according to Insomniac Games.
