First confirmed earlier in February with a teaser trailer, Capcom on Thursday during PlayStation’s State of Play revealed more about its upcoming Street Fighter 6 game. The fighting game is scheduled for a release in 2023 on the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X / S and PC without an actual date yet.

Capcom is using its RE Engine which was used in the development of Resident Evil Village, Resident Evil 7, and Devil May Cry 5 to create Street Fighter 6. The studio is promising “enhanced visuals in every aspect of the game,” thanks to its RE Engine for its upcoming entry into the fighting franchise.

Fan favourites Ryu and Chun-Li make their way back to Street fighter 6 while Luke, a key character from Street Fighter V DLC also returns. Capcom says all characters have been redesigned for “this new era” and that a new character called Jamie will be joining the franchise.

Capcom showcased some new features coming to the game such as select moves, and an overview of the drive system. The game will also feature real-time commentary.

A final release date is yet to be announced, but fans of the franchise can expect to get more information when Capcom is ready.
