It may not be an in-demand feature, but Instagram is finally letting users swap out the audio on existing feed posts and carousels. Instagram Head Adam Mosseri announced on Tuesday.
Until now, users who want to replace the current audio on an existing post had to delete the entire post, reupload, and choose a new audio. Now, users only have to tap the three dots on an already published post, select the edit button, and swap out the existing audio. All likes and comments on the edited posts remain intact, and only the audio is swapped out.

The new feature lets users bring life into an existing post with no audio, or choose more suitable music to convey emotions on an old post. The update might feel insignificant, but it’s a useful one, nonetheless.
The Meta-owned platform has come under fire for some of the changes it introduced recently. After much backlash, it killed a feature that lets users modify photos from public accounts using AI. In June, the company released an update that lets users add multiple captions on a carousel.
